Privacy statement

Who is responsible?

Milestamp is provided by JMotiveWorks, the trade name it is built under. There is no registration with the KvK, the Dutch chamber of commerce, behind that name yet: one follows as soon as Milestamp starts costing money, and the company details will appear here then. Questions about this statement or about your data can be sent to info@milestamp.nl.

The website

There are no adverts on milestamp.nl, no tracking pixels and no cookies for advertising purposes. No cookies requiring consent are placed — which is why you see no cookie banner here either.

The fonts are loaded from our own server and not fetched from a third party, so your visit does not become known outside this site. The site is hosted by Netlify, which processes technical data such as your IP address in order to deliver pages. That is necessary in order to serve a website at all.

The app

If you create an account, we process:

• Your email address and password, so that you can sign in. The password is stored encrypted and is not readable by us.
• Your cars’ details: registration, make, model, year and whatever you add yourself.
• Your maintenance entries: date, odometer reading, category, cost, notes and the files you attach.

Your data is private. Other users cannot see it unless you create a share link yourself or transfer your car. How that is enforced technically is set out on Security.

Participating garages

When a garage looks up your registration in order to write a service, it sees the details of that one car and the maintenance entries attached to it. It does not see your email address and not your other cars. Every lookup and every write is recorded.

Sharing with others

A share link shows the car and the maintenance, and not your name or email address. Anyone holding the link can open it; it is deliberately not password-protected so that you can send it over WhatsApp or email. You can revoke a link at any time. On a transfer, all links expire automatically.

Who else processes data?

• Supabase — database, sign-in and file storage.
• Netlify — hosting of the website and the app.
• RDW — when looking up a registration we query the open register held by the RDW. The registration is sent with that query; your account is not.

Your data is not sold and is not used for advertising.

How long do we keep it?

For as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, your cars, maintenance entries and files go with it. If you transfer a car to another user, that car’s logbook goes with the car — that is the point of a transfer.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct and delete your data, and to a copy in a usable format. You do not need to request that last one: you can export your full logbook as a PDF or CSV yourself at any time. For the rest, use the contact address above. If we cannot resolve it together, you can lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

Changes

If anything material about this statement changes, we update the date at the top. For far-reaching changes we say so in the app.
